Part Time Security Officer (Ref: ER LIT)

Job Description
Working 12 Hours per week Saturday and Sunday
The role of the Security Officer is;
• To ensure that all reasonable efforts are made to protect the client’s property and that staff and visitors to the site are able to go about their business in a Safe and Friendly Environment.
• Prevent the events leading to fires and acting quickly should a fire be discovered.
• Report any fire hazard to the Site Supervisor who will be responsible for reporting the hazard to the fire officer.
• Prevent events leading to crime, and report to the Communications Centre any likely breaches to the physical/technical security of the premises.
• Prevent any threat to any staff or other members of the public ensuring that all personnel are able to go about their business in a safe and friendly environment.
• Prevent any unauthorized persons entering restricted parts of the premises at any time and ensure the well being of all staff members and public from possible threats of violence or other crime.
• Prevent any waste by switching off unnecessary electricity, water or gas.
• Uphold the clients’ prestige and our image and reputation by professionally dealing with people and maintaining a first class appearance.
• Prevent the events that lead to accidents / personal injury by reporting health & safety hazards to the duty Controller for documentation. All hazards should also be reported to the Health & Safety Department.
• Care about the customer’s needs at all times, ensuring a long contractual relationship.
• Check the identity of any person arousing suspicion and report suspicious activities.
• Monitor all alarm activations in order to establish their possible cause and action them by referring to written instructions.
• Deal with any request or queries from staff or members of the public or if unable to do so, refer them to the reception.
• Attend any incident of crime, damage, possible intrusion or assault within the Building ensuring your own personnel safety.
• Investigate any suspicious occurrence or event, either reported, or seen and inform Client if appropriate.
• Monitor contractors on site.
• Report any missing fire or safety equipment from its normal housing.
• This role will include minor ‘Janitor Duties.’
